The Programme was just marvellous. It gave the girls brief insights on the vast culture and Heritage of Varanasi through interactive sessions as well as field trips to various Heritage Sites, Museums, Ghats and temples. The intricate carvings on the walls of the temples and forts blew away the minds of the team members. Varanasi being one of the oldest cities of India comes with an extensive history and a lot of stories to tell. When they visited the Ghats they were welcomed with the fresh waters of the Ganga river. The cold breeze blowing over the river was very calming and refreshing. Banaras is famous for its exotic street food like Banarasi Paan and Kachori-Sabzi which everyone tried and immediately fell in love with it. Also, famous for its different kinds of textile all over the world, students were lucky enough to be able to visit the Trade Facilitation Centre which has all the various types of Banarasi fabrics on display and each of them is woven so carefully creating amazing designs. 15th August was celebrated with the children of Sunbeam School, Sarnath, Varanasi with a captivating Flag Hosting Ceremony and performances by the host school and a dance performance by the girls of RKK. The team had a blissful time with the kids and teachers of Sunbeam School Sarnath, Varanasi who were very kind and hospitable.
