IT WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS


The IT session was conducted to impart essential knowledge and skills related to basic computer literacy, digital safety, Microsoft Office Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, OneNote, AI and ChatGPT, and the proper usage of Interactive Flat Panels. Additionally, teachers were taught basic troubleshooting skills. The session aimed to equip teachers with the necessary skills to navigate the digital world effectively and safely.

Session Highlights:

1. Basic Computer Literacy:

The session began with an introduction to basic computer literacy. Teachers were taught about the keyboard, web browsers, file management, use of Internet for research etc.

2. Digital Safety:

Digital safety was emphasized to ensure teachers understood the importance of protecting their personal information online. Topics covered included creating strong passwords, ‘do not track’ tool, etc.

3. AI and ChatGPT:

Participants were introduced to the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it is integrated into daily life. A demonstration of ChatGPT showcased the capabilities of AI in natural language processing and its potential applications.

4. Microsoft Office Online:

The session included a hands-on demonstration of Microsoft Office Online tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Teachers learned how to use these applications from a web browser.

5. Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and OneNote:

The importance of collaborative work tools like Microsoft Teams, cloud storage in OneDrive, and note-taking in OneNote was discussed. Teachers learned how to use these tools effectively for collaboration and document management.

6. Proper Usage of Interactive Flat Panels:

Teachers were introduced to few more utilities of Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs). This included Eye Care, finder, touch overlay, split screen, etc.

7. Basic Troubleshooting Skills:

Teachers learned how to identify and address problems such as slow performance, software glitches, and connectivity issues.

The teachers showed enthusiasm and engagement throughout the session, and their feedback indicated a significant improvement in their IT literacy. They expressed appreciation for the practical knowledge gained and the relevance of the topics covered.
