INTER CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME WITH QUEENS' COLLEGE, INDORE (SENDING)

Someone rightly said “Exchange isn't a week or a year in your life, its a LIFE in  a week or a year.”

On 16th  April 2023, the team of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur left for their Inter Cultural Exchange Program (under the aegis of AFS India) to Queens’ College, Indore from 17th to 22nd April 2023 and stayed there till the 22nd  April (Saturday) 2023. The 11 Student participants were – Nabiha Siddiqui, Rakshita, Paridhi, Lakshita Golecha, Pranjal, Lavanya Balar, Siddhi Kumari, Urvashi Rathore, Charvi Abba, Chinmayi Abba, Somya Singh and their Teacher Escort Ms Amba Singh Jhabua.

The students were made to visit almost each and every corner of Indore. From visiting the Phoenix Citadel Mall where girls relished doing the shopping to the amazing Lippan Art session where the girls actually created beautiful pieces of artwork, each and every day of ours was action-packed and extremely satisfying. We also had a couple of visits to temples such as – Mahakaleshwar Temple & Mangalnath Temple in Ujjain, Gomath & Giri Jain Temple,  Annapurna Temple & Gopal Temple. We also explored the historical places of Indore such as -Lal Bagh Palace, Chatri & Rajwada followed by delicious dinner in Sarafa. We also had a great time exploring the delicious delicacies of the heart of Indore “Chhappan”. The team also had a great time in Mandu – biggest fort in India, where they learnt a lot about Malwa’s culture & heritage. It was also refreshing to walk around the lush green trees of Bilawali Lake and also to do the early morning trek in Ralamandal. Our girls also got the opportunity to visit an educational centre in Indore – “Manav Chetna Vikas Kendra”, where they learnt about a different type of education – Home schooling, how it is important to have “human-to-human connection”, “human to nature connection” and the “importance of life skills” in today’s world. The team of RKKGPS also gave a marvellous “Intercultural Dance Presentation” where our girls performed on medley of songs – Ghoomar and Baju band ri Loom to represent Ghoomar dance and their Rajasthani roots. In the Queens’ College Residential campus, our stay was very comfortable. The school really took good care of us and made sure that we had a wonderful time in Indore. RKK students made many friends over there and learnt a lot during this one week trip. By the end of the trip, the girls became more confident, learnt time management, discipline, adaptability and leadership skills which will help them in their future endeavours.
