INTER CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM - 2023 (HOSTING)

Resonating with these words, a successful Inter Cultural Exchange Program (under the aegis of AFS India) was held in Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School from 10th to 17th April 2023 which set a great example of camaraderie and togetherness. A total of six schools participated in this exchange namely namely Amity International School, New Delhi (Amity Group of Schools), Maa Anandmayee Memorial School, Raiwala (Dehradun), Pinegrove School,  Solan, Dharampur (Himachal Pradesh), Queens' College, Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) & Viraj Shri Ram Centennial School, Boisar (Maharashtra). This week-long exchange offered a bouquet of adventures to young delegates and they first hand experienced the hospitality of Rajasthan.

Day 1 of the exchange was a relaxed one that included the arrival of all the teams, ice breaking session and talent hunt. Additionally squash and swimming seasons were organised which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants. The highlight of the day was the scrumptious royal thali.

Day 2 included sightseeing at majestic Mehrangarh Fort and marvellous Umaid Bhawan Palace. This day also included workshops on Dance and Music for all the participants.

Day 3 was the day of the special assembly; all the wonderful participant schools were formally introduced in the assembly which was followed by a series of workshops on Western Dance, Ghoomar and Western Music. Participants also continued with their Squash and Swimming sessions.

The day concluded with a heritage walk in the blue city, where children saw Toorji ka Jhalra and visited Pal Haveli.

Day 4 was an exciting day when children visited Mandore and Osiyan and totally immersed themselves in the culture of Rajasthan. The highlight of the day was the Jeep Safari and Camel Ride. The day ended with a visit to National Handloom.

Day 5 began with a visit to Shekhawati Arts, where children learned the intricacies of the art of Rajasthan which was followed by the Principal’s Dinner in the evening at the Umed Club, and the glittering evening concluded with the DJ.

The Day 6 and 7 included a visit to the Chemical plant, Map of India, Rajasthani Art Club, Vinod Vastralaya and ended with a Treasure Hunt and a full filled Pool Party.

On the last day, the participating schools witnessed the Investiture Ceremony of RKKGPS, followed by their scheduled departures.

In a nutshell, it was a wonderful learning experience that will always be cherished.
