GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION

Always on the forefront, RKKGPS celebrates various festivals to ensure that its students stay rooted with Indian culture.Festivals bring people together and give us a chance to reenergise our body, mind and spirit.

With the same fervour and joy the students and teachers from classes Nursery to Five celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm and gaiety on 22 August 2020 using virtual platform. Despite the distances, the relevance of Ganesh Chaturthi being celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, was explained to the students. “Ecofriendly Ganesha”, being the central theme, the activities conducted by all the classes stuck to the main storyline. A plethora of activities depicting Lord Ganesha were done. Idols of Lord Ganesha made out of Paper, Cups, Vegetables, Leaves, Clay, Cardboard, Grains & Atta Dough were made by the children. Other activities included backdrop decorations, cards, bookmarks, varmala and singhasans as an ode to the Lord. The day also included visual and audio treats by the talented tiny tots like dance, shlokas and bhajans dedicated to the diety. It was a real delight to see kids dressed up in traditional attire. All the children had prepared hard to show their respect to the Lord and also enjoyed their activities thoroughly. Parents’ presence added more grace to the fun and joyful learning.

Everybody appreciated and complemented the RKK family for their constructive efforts and eco-friendly celebrations. One should not forget the culture, tradition and importance of celebrating festivals and RKKians hold this spirit to the very core of their hearts.
