FOLK ART COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY KC PUBLIC SCHOOL

K C  Public School, Jammu & Kashmir organised a Folk Art Competition for all the member schools of Round Square. Mansi Birla, Anvi Mehta, Pradnya Trivedi, Pari Salecha, the students of Class VII and VIII from Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School, Jodhpur participated to  enhance their learning curve and understand the different folk arts around the world.

After learning about the competition guidelines and deadline as 30th November 2020 for submission, with the help of their mentors Manoj Sir and Yateesh Sir, the students delved into this amazing journey. Four folk arts from around the world were selected. Students read and researched about the culture and the stories behind the chosen folk arts  so that mistakes can be minimised  and  fair justice to their culture and art can be provided. The gargantuan task gradually became much easier for the novice learners as they all  had researched and studied the nuances of their respective folk art and culture beforehand which helped them a lot in choosing the right colours and shades.

In the hindsight, this competition was an effort to enable art enthusiasts get out of their comfort zone and learn about different folk arts around the globe. This competition of artwork will definitely create awareness about different cultures hoping that it will also revive the lost popularity of the folk arts.
