On 23rd November 2024 esteemed guest Ms. Deborah Anne Swallow visited Shakti Centre with Mrs. Indra Shaktawat, to see the working of the Projects running at Shakti Centre. She expressed admiration for the initiative and was deeply impressed by the dedication and efforts showcased by the students and the working staff. She particularly appreciated for the noble cause being served and commended the impactful work being carried out at the centre.
The students behind Hamara Prayaas introduced their initiative, emphasizing their mission to provide free sanitary napkins to women who cannot afford them. They also highlighted the dual focus of their efforts: raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and generating employment opportunities for women.
A live demonstration of the process of making sanitary napkins was a key highlight of the event. Each student took turns explaining the steps involved, offering valuable and engaging details about their work. This showcased their dedication and the innovative approach of the initiative.
Adding a creative touch, the students performed a nukkad natak (street play) to illustrate how they spread awareness about menstrual hygiene among women in rural areas.
Overall, the event was a remarkable display of innovation, dedication, and community spirit, exemplifying how young minds can create a significant impact through their thoughtful and proactive efforts.
