SERVICE ENDEAVOUR ON WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School, Jodhpur, has always been assiduous regarding the mental health needs and well-being of the students. Therefore, RKK celebrated World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October, 2023. RKK collaborated with Rotary Club, Shivangi, and Navjyoti Manovikas Kendra to commemorate the significance of Happiness Quotient and sensitizing the students about the children with special needs.

The program "Aashaaon Ki Udaan" was planned, keeping in mind the sole purpose of celebrating the day with the most special people.

70 students and staff members from Navjyoti Manovikas Kendra were invited to RKK to spend a complete day with us.

The day began with Grade 4 and 5 students welcoming the entire team of NMK with fun music, full cheer, and enthusiasm.

The activities were meticulously planned by the mental health professionals of the school, which included:

1. Welcoming performance by RKKians

2. Cultural performances by the special children.

3. Fun games like musical chairs, balloon bursts, etc.

4. Meal bonding with children over refreshment and lunch.

5. Prizes and gifts were given to each child as a small token of appreciation for their participation in the activities.

Class V was actively involved in the project along with Dean Activity, Mrs. Indra Shaktawat, the Mental Health Professionals, and the PETs of the school.

Witnessing the special needs kids perform with such vigor and confidence inspired the students to believe in the old saying, "Where there is a will, there is a way." The special needs kids have been underestimated by society for so many things, but after bonding with them, the students of RKK learned that hard work, courage and a positive perspective towards life can make the whole difference.

For RKK, it was a service that would always remain close to everyone's heart. The smiling faces, lovable presence, and respectful demeanor of the kids overwhelmed everyone with everlasting emotions and joy.
