The Newcastle Grammar School, Australia, hosted an engaging Round Square Zoom Postcard on 26 August 2026, inviting students to look beyond the headlines and question the information they encounter every day. With the theme
“Headlines & Hoaxes in Real Life” the session turned an increasingly relevant topic into an engaging exploration of how easily information can be misunderstood, manipulated, or mistaken for truth.
Representing Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur, the team comprised
Shelja Bhati, Dimple Bisnoi, Navya Rathore, Ishana, Vindhyeshwari Bika, and Pulak Jain, under the guidance of Ms Priyal Chouhan, Teacher In-charge.The session challenged students to become more thoughtful consumers of information. Through a series of questions, group discussions, and an interactive game, participants examined the difference between credible information and misleading claims. The breakout-room activities encouraged students to voice their opinions, debate their ideas, and consider perspectives different from their own.
One of the most significant takeaways was the importance of pausing before believing or sharing information. The discussions highlighted how a catchy headline or convincing claim may not always tell the complete story, making critical thinking an essential skill in navigating today’s information-rich world.
