SUNBEAM SCHOOL & HOSTEL VARUNA - 6TH EDITION OF CRITICAL IDEAS THOUGHT HUDDLE 2025 (ONLINE)


 “Winners are not those who win a few competitions but those who take these learnings to shape their future” - Mr Mukherjee, Curator, Critical Thought Huddle at Sunbeam Varuna.

A team of 4 students - Dhruvi Mehta - IX D (Plurilogues Multi-Format Debates ), Piya Salecha - XI B (Plurilogues Multi-Format Debates), Sunehari - XI D (Documentary Essary Writing) and Rishita Bhansali - XI D (Documentary Essary Writing) along with their teacher trainers participated in the Critical Ideas Thought Huddle 2025, from January 20-22, 2025, on the Zoom platform. Among 30 other prestigious schools, over the course of three days, RKKians engaged in a series of intellectually stimulating events.

The event commenced with registration followed by Documentary Essay writing, ‘Imaginarium’ and Quiz. The participants had to write on the topic ‘Kesavananda and Bharati case’ in about 75 lines for the Documentary Essay. The second day kickstarted with the Opening Ceremony which included a soulful Kathak dance performance. The Principal, Mrs. Anupama Mishra addressed the gathering with a motivational speech.

The participants of the event were: Rishita Bhansali (XI D) and Sunehari Birla (XI D) for Documentary essay writing, and Dhruvi Mehta (IX C) and Piya Salecha (XI B) for Multi format English Debate. The RKK team qualified for finals and left an indelible mark on the judges. The Closing ceremony took place on the final day where the results were announced.

It was indeed a moment of pride when RKK bagged the Overall, Joint III position in the Debate. Dhruvi Mehta was awarded the Best Speaker-Shipwreck, while Piya Salecha received the Best Speaker Award for the Block and Tackle round.

The ceremony concluded with a speech about thinking critically by Mr Parnab Mukherjee, who emphasized that one can always disagree, yet admire; critical thinking, does not have any language.
