THE CATHEDRAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION (CMC- 2024)


CMC aims for a holistic growth and understanding of one’s hidden mathematical capabilities, highly valuing creativity and innovation – two qualities that are essential in solving problems. Success in the competition stems from strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills. CMC has helped discover some of the best and brightest minds by catering to students spanning various age groups from around the world. Driven by the backing of the FSA Club, CMC has grown into one of the world’s largest and most unique, challenging, and prestigious competitions. Every year, math enthusiasts from the school’s senior batch brainstorm innovative questions and put together a highly competitive, yet engaging competition that unites thousands of participants from different backgrounds through their common passion – math.

58 Students Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School participated in The Cathedral Mathematics Competition (CMC) 2024 on 13th & 14th July 2024 organized by The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai’s Full STEAM Ahead (FSA) Club. The competition had three categories to equitably cater to students spanning various age groups - Junior: Grades - 7 & 8, Intermediate: Grades - 9 & 10, & Senior: Grades - 11 & 12. The questions were different for each category and were designed to be consistent with the academic level of that category.

Each category of the competition had two rounds as follows:

1. Qualifier Round - 20 questions, 1 hour 30 minutes, multiple choice and short answer type questions. For participating individuals, this round was conducted by The CMC Administration via Discord on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 5 pm IST.  

Based on the scores of the qualifier round, the top 20% of all participants of each category were invited to participate in the final round of the competition. This round was conducted by The CMC Administration for all selected participants on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 5 pm IST.                                                                                                                                        

Following 13 students of RKK were selected for finals but were not able to crack the finals.

Nevertheless, this experience will definitely help them to perform better next time.
