21st September 2026, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur hosted the Her Highness Rajmata Krishna Kumari Sahiba's Centenary Memorial Lecture at Badan Rangshala Auditorium on the theme,
“Understanding India’s Past: Histories, Syncretic Culture and the Need to Decolonialise”.
The distinguished session brought together Padma Vibhushan Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia as moderator, with Dr Najeeb Jung, former Lt. Governor of Delhi, and Dr Vikram Sampath, acclaimed historian and author, as speakers.
The insightful discussions explored India’s diverse historical narratives, cultural plurality, syncretic traditions and the importance of understanding our past through multiple perspectives. An engaging open-house interaction allowed students and academicians to participate in a thought-provoking dialogue.
The programme also featured a graceful Mohiniyattam Vandana and a moving rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s “Where the Mind is Without Fear,” beautifully reflecting the spirit of knowledge, harmony and fearless thought.
The presence of Their Highnesses Maharaja Gaj Singhji and Maharani Hemlata Rajye Sahiba added to the significance of the occasion.
