AFS Changemakers Workshop
The AFS “Changemakers for Active Global Citizenship Education” Workshop was conducted online on 26th May 2026 and 28th May 2026. The workshop brought together 40+ students from across India, providing an opportunity to learn about active global citizenship, youth leadership, and creating positive social change.
Srishti Jain, Naisha Jain, Saanvi Agarwal, and Bhavika Ramnani participated in the workshop under the guidance of Radhika Ma’am.
Before the first session, participants completed a pre-work activity called the Identity Flower, which encouraged them to reflect on their identities, values and the qualities that make each of them unique. Before the second session, the team carried out a Neighbourhood Activity, where they observed their surroundings to understand the needs and issues within the local community.
During the workshop, participants learned about the different ways and stages through which positive change can be brought about. Students also explored inspiring examples of youth changemakers, including a young entrepreneur who developed an eco-friendly jeans brand to promote sustainability.
The sessions included several interactive games and activities. Team was divided into breakout sessions, where the participants discussed different topics with students from across India, exchanged ideas, and worked together on activities. One of the major group tasks was to select a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and design an idea or solution to help address the chosen issue.
