RKK had the privilege of participating in the prestigious SAI Global Debate competition, an annual feature of inter – school debate competition which was held virtually. This event brought together some of the brightest young debaters from across the region, showcasing intellectual vigor, eloquence, and critical thinking. The competition witnessed a group of highly competitive and passionate orators from 30 best and top schools of India. The event was very thrilling, comprehensive and nerve – wracking experience for all the participants. The day was divided into two rounds and three different competitions.
A team of 4 students (Pearl Rathi VI, Priyali Gandhi VII, Dhruvi Mehta IX, Khyati Rathi IX) participated in Argumentative Debate, 2 enthusiastic students (Saanvi Jain VII, Suhani Lodha XI) were selected for Extempore and 2 excited debaters (Mehal Sharda VI, Laxmi Bishnoi XI) were in Turncoat event. In all, our school had eight participants, four each in Junior and Senior team under the able guidance of Mrs Sandhya Mudgal, Mrs Shalini Dalal & Mrs Neetu Chatterjee. Students had started preparing, practicing and fine-tuning their oratory skills from the beginning of January.
The event held on
18th January, 2025 was divided into two rounds, the first being the Preliminary Round. Our participants briming with confidence showcased their in-depth knowledge, research and critical thinking ability, impressing the judges and audience alike. The results of Preliminary Round reflected the talent and caliber of our students. Out of our eight participants, seven made it to the highly challenging and scrutinized final round. The final round was full of surprises, keeping the participants on tender hooks and making them show their knowledge and their ability to apply logical reasoning to the topic at hand. The team’s well – researched arguments, eloquent delivery and quick rebuttals left a lasting impact. The collaborative spirit and thorough preparation reflected their dedication, earning them accolades and respect from their peers. It was a proud moment as they held their own against some of the best teams in the region, embodying the spirit of intellectual discourse and sportsmanship.
After a highly grilling long day,
our team emerged victorious, Priyali Gandhi of Grade VIII secured Third Position in Argumentative Debate (Junior) and Saanvi Jain of Grade VII bagged Second Position in Extempore (Junior). This competition provided all our eight students with invaluable exposure to high – level debating. It honed their research skills, enhanced their confidence, and emphasized the importance of critical thinking and effective communication. Such competitions not only highlight the potential of our students but also inspire them to aim higher and work to achieve their goals. Looking forward to continuing this tradition of excellence.
