SUNBEAM SUNCITY (SCHOOL & HOSTEL), VARANASI : A DROP OF KINDNESS - GIVING THE GIFT OF GIVING

"True kindness lies within the act of giving and lifting the lives of others." quote unquote Mother Teresa.

Put your heart, Mind and Soul into your small acts and they will change the world. The International World Charity Day is observed on 5th of September. This year Sunbeam Suncity (School & Hostel) took an initiative to raise awareness and to provide a common platform for the students to showcase their little contributions towards humanity. Under the aegis of the RS pillar ‘Service’ and the motto 'A Drop of Kindness- Giving the Gift of Giving', A virtual YouTube premiere was organised wherein a compiled form of video from all the participating schools was presented to get inspired and sensitized. Sunbeam Suncity (School & Hostel), Varanasi along with many elite schools like the Doon School Dehradun, Welhem Girls' Dehradun, Pathways World School, Aravali, Genesis Global School, Noida etc. enthusiastically participated. A team of three students - Madhurima Rathore, Yaana Jain and Jaishree Banberu of Class XII proudly represented RKKGPS.

RKK runs and support Project "Prayaas" and Project "Shakti" that functions under the aegis of His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust. The girls truly indulged themselves in making Sanitary Napkins and Masks under these projects and distributed the packets to the ladies in the nearby local areas. Two videos were shot of the three students manufacturing and distributing their production and were sent to the host school. This small act of kindness was well appreciated by everyone.

It has been one of the best learning experiences as the children were exposed to such service endeavours in the running period of the pandemic. They acquired valuable knowledge and developed skills which will go a long way.
