CONFERENCE AT LAHARTARA, VARANASI


Four days from 18th to 21st April 2019 were highly mesmerizing for a team of 6 students, Nivedita Vashistha, Priyamwada, Sushila Bishnoi, Anjali Sharma, Prakhya Pareek, Prachi Jain and their Teacher Escort Ms Upasana Singh who went to Varanasi to represent RKK in a Round Square Conference hosted by  Sunbeam School, Varanasi on the theme “Surrender the ME for the WE” encompassing the IDEALS of Leadership, Environmentalism & Service.

The first day began with the Ice breaking session and a scintillating Kathak dance performance by the well known artist Mr Vishal Krishna, the grandson of Kathak Queen, Padmashree Sitara Devi.

Visit to Trade Facilitation Centre followed by Barazza sessions there, visit to Kabir Math and Kabir Chauraha followed by a session on Kabir Vani and dimensions of Kabir and their relevance for students, visit to Central University for Tibetian Studies, Heritage Cruise ‘Subah- e- Banaras’ with classical music rendition, Cultural performances of all the schools followed by the Closing Ceremony, Visit to Shilp Gram, an extravaganza of Banaras and its specialities, Social Evening are all treasured memories for the team.  

Students were fortunate to meet so many Keynote Speakers of great repute. Mr Varun Spoke on “English is a logic language’, Padamshree Dr Rajani Kant, Executive Director, Human Welfare Association spoke about the local handicraft items of Varanasi. Professor Geshe Ngawang Samten, the Vice Chancellor of Central University for Tibetian Studies shared his knowledge on ‘How to lead a Happy life’ and ‘Think Positive’, Ms Ria Sharma, Mr Reshma Qureshi and Ms Tanya Singh made the sessions very interesting with their keynote speeches.

The team returned with a heavy heart, filled with experience, confidence and memories.
