CYBER SAFETY AWARENESS FOR PARENTS


In an age where the digital landscape is ever-evolving, the importance of cyber safety cannot be overstated. Recognizing this, RKK hosted an enlightening Cyber Safety session tailored for parents on the 18th and 19th of March 2024, in the welcoming ambiance of the BRS auditorium, situated in the heart of the school campus.

The sessions aimed to:

1. Raise awareness about online threats.

2. Provide practical tips for enhancing online safety.

3. Empower parents to monitor and guide their children's online activities.

Led by our own Robotics and AI expert at school, Ms. Nupur Goyal, the sessions were crafted to not only inform but empower. Over the course of two days, parents were engaged in comprehensive discussions, exploring the intricacies of the online world and its impact on our children.

Topics covered included:

• Phishing and Online Scams.

• Social Media Safety.

• Concept of Digital Footprint

• Understanding Privacy Settings and Parental Control.

• Cyberbullying Prevention.

• Dangers of Online Gaming.

• Picture Morphing and Deepfakes.

• Importance of Digital Literacy among parents

• Strategies for fostering Open Communication about cyber safety.

From demystifying the latest social media trends among teenagers to understanding the nuances of privacy settings and parental control in smart phones, Ms. Goyal provided a wealth of knowledge. The sessions delved into practical strategies for monitoring and protecting our young ones online, including how to approach conversations about Cyber Safety in a manner that fosters trust and openness.

The interactive Q&A sessions were a testament to the vibrant community spirit, with parents sharing experiences, concerns, and solutions. It was a heartening sight to witness our community's commitment to ensuring a safe digital environment for our children.
