INTRODUCTIONOn 03.08.2024, an IT workshop was successfully conducted in the ICT Lab by Jasvinder Pal Singh, the Dean IT of RKKGPS. This workshop aimed to enhance the overall development of teachers by equipping them with essential IT skills and knowledge. The workshop was conducted in two batches to ensure effective participation and learning.
OBJECTIVESThe primary objectives of the workshop were:
- To improve basic computer literacy among teachers.
- To introduce the power and potential of generative AI.
- To familiarize teachers with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- To provide hands-on training in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- To educate teachers on cyber safety and security measures.
WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS- The workshop included interactive sessions where teachers actively participated and engaged with the content.
- Practical exercises and real-time demonstrations were conducted to ensure hands-on experience.
- The teachers were provided with sufficient technical knowledge of Word and Excel, enabling them to effectively manage students' marks and data.
- Teachers were educated on the importance of cyber safety, focusing on identifying common cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Best practices for maintaining online security and privacy were discussed
CONCLUSIONIn conclusion, the IT workshop was a significant step towards enhancing the digital competence of teachers. It not only equipped them with essential IT skills but also inspired them to embrace technology in their professional lives.
