ORIENTATION SESSION ON NATIONAL CREDIT FRAMEWORK

To familiarize staff members with the National Credit Framework introduced by the CBSE for classes VI, IX, and XI for the session 2024-25 a session was conducted by Mrs Seema Baxi, Dean Academics (Seniors) on 20th April 2024 in E-lab.

She elaborated on the concept of the credit system, emphasizing its significance in evaluating students' academic progress. Credits serve as a quantitative measure of the student's learning outcomes and contributions throughout the academic year.

The session delved into the criteria for awarding credits to students. Factors such as performance in assessments, project submissions, participation in co-curricular activities, and behaviour are considered in determining credit points.

The Dean underscored the importance of credits in shaping students' academic journey and future prospects. Credits not only reflect students' academic prowess but also foster holistic development by recognizing their diverse talents and contributions.

A significant aspect discussed was the correlation between attendance and credit points. The Dean elucidated how regular attendance is pivotal in accruing credit points, as it signifies students' commitment to their education and active engagement in the learning process.

Following the comprehensive overview, the floor was opened for a Q&A session, allowing staff members to seek clarification and engage in interactive discussions. Various queries related to the implementation of the NCrF, assessment methodologies, and its impact on teaching practices were addressed adeptly by the Dean.

The orientation session proved to be enlightening and enriching, equipping staff members with a thorough understanding of the National Credit Framework. It served as a precursor to the forthcoming academic year, empowering educators to adapt their pedagogical approaches in alignment with the evolving assessment paradigm.
