GTPS aims to design a joy filled educational framework to help early learners develop 21st century skills, based on
UNESCO’s Pillars or Learning. RKK Deans and more than 30 teachers joined this wonderful GTPS - 4 days’ sessions on 19th, 20th, 26th & 27th February 2022 organized for Principals, Teachers, Policy Makers, authorities of the various Education Board, Parents, Caregivers, Counsellors, Librarians and all who are interested in Education.
Day – 1 (19th February 2022) : On Saturday from 3.30 pm to 4:00 pm inauguration ceremony was organized under the guidance of Dr Coomi S. Vevana and many great personalities and chairpersons. There were important sessions from 4 pm to 7 pm and many topics were discussed like :
· Today’s children, tomorrow’s adults : Re-thinking our approach to Education.
· 21st Century Skills for leaders.
· Changing the Assessment system to Transform Education.
Day – 2 (20th February 2022) : On Sunday from 4.00 pm to 7:00 pm different Topics like Education through Nature, Education through Arts, Education through Sports, Digital Pedagogy and Gamification were deliberated upon.
Day – 3 (26th February 2022) : On Saturday from 4.00 pm to 7:00 pm, the topics discussed were :
· Active, Sensorial, Play based learning.
· Inclusive Education – I : Social Justice Issues- Gender, Ethnicity, Class, Caste etc.
· Inclusive Education – II : Differently abled learners.
· Social Emotional Ethical Learning and Mindfulness.
Day – 4 (27th February 2022) : On Sunday from 4.00 pm to 7:00 pm, the final day concluded with discussion on following topics :
· Civic sense and sustainable Development Goals.
· Readers will be leaders.
· Preparing Teachers and Parents for Personalized Education for Global citizenship (PEGC).
At the end of the sessions there was an Open House and way forward discussions on how a truly child – centric educational framework for the foundational years can be collaboratively created. It was a great learning platform for the educators to upgrade themselves with the new approach and thinking.
