The Army Requirement Office in Jodhpur organized an informative and interactive session for girls from classes X, XI & XII on 4th Sept 2023. The objective of this session was to provide the students with valuable insights into the various entry points and examinations for joining the Indian Army, as well as to give them an understanding of army life. The session aimed to encourage and inspire young girls to consider a career in the armed forces.
The session commenced with a warm welcome to all the attendees. Officers from the Army Requirement Office, Jodhpur, introduced themselves and emphasized the significance of the Indian Army in safeguarding the nation.
The officers presented a comprehensive overview of the different entry points and examinations for joining the Indian Army, including:
- National Defense Academy (NDA)
- Combined Defense Services Examination (CDSE)
- Short Service Commission (SSC)
- Technical Entry Scheme (TES)
- Women Special Entry Scheme (WSES)
- Army Medical Corps (AMC) Entry
- Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry
They provided detailed information about the eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, and the selection process for each of these entry routes. This was particularly helpful for the girls as they gained clarity on the pathways available to them.
The officers shared their personal experiences and insights into life in the Indian Army. They discussed the challenges and opportunities that come with a career in the armed forces, emphasizing the values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership that are integral to army life.
The session was made interactive, allowing the girls to ask questions and seek clarifications. The officers patiently answered all the queries and concerns raised by the students, ranging from the training regimen to the work-life balance in the army. Towards the end of the session, a motivational talk was given by a senior officer, highlighting the achievements of women in the armed forces and inspiring the girls to aim high and consider the army as a career option.
