In order to safeguard and protect our children on various e-platforms and awareness about the same which is the need of the hour, RKK organized class-wise online seminars on Cyber Security for parents and students of Classes VI to XII from 01/08/2022 to 10/08/2022.
These sessions focused on Cyber safety and the risks involved when dealing online on multiple platforms. It focused on various risks like virus attacks, cyber stalking, picture morphing, deepfakes, impact of online gaming on kids, social trolling, etc. Various recommendations in the form of do’s and don’ts were shared for the social media platforms which included smart surfing, being facebook and whatsApp safe, e-mail security tips, how to prevent e-frauds and various safety tips related to mobile phones were discussed.
Later after every session, the queries of the parents were solved regarding the potential threat they are experiencing in their day-to-day life. Parents shared their concern regarding the mobile usage of their wards, multiple apps that are installed in their devices and how they could control/ monitor their kids’ screen time. Many queries came from students too who were unknowingly doing some activities online that they needed to be careful about like sharing of personal details on social networking platforms, clicking on unknown links and downloading pirated apps and software, etc.
Students and parents appreciated this initiative by RKK for educating them on such a topic that was the need in current scenario.
