Every year on 16th October, WFSA supports Anesthesia providers the world over to celebrate their profession and have a bit of fun while doing it.
World Anesthesia Day commemorates the birth of Anesthesia on 16th October 1846. When doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital demonstrated the use of ether for the first time on a patient. In doing so they changed surgery forever, proving it was possible for patients to undergo surgery without the torture of pain previously associated with it.
On this auspicious occasion Dr. M.C. Panwar and his team organized a Workshop based on “HOW TO SAVE LIFE IN 180 SECONDS”.
Dr. Panwar explained the importance of 180 seconds between clinical death and biological death. He demonstrated the method of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest. DR. Panwar explained three different stages A,B and C of CPR with the help of a dummy specimen.
Students of class 10 and 12 attended the workshop with concerned subject teachers.
It was a very interactive session and students learnt about the process of CPR and risk factors associated with anesthesia, the important role of anaesthesiologist during minor and major surgery.
Mrs. Seema Baxi(Dean, Senior Academic, RKKGPS) gave Vote of Thanks to Dr. Panwar, Dr. Tak and his team for such a wonderful session.
