“Who lives sees much. Who travels sees more”A group of 34 students along with their Escort Teachers –
Mrs Sapna Gupta, Ms Awanesh Sharma and Mrs Bindu Shaktawat left for an enriching educational trip to Dubai- a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai is popularly known as the Venice of the Gulf as it is the chief port and commercial centre of the UAE. Dubai is undoubtedly the fastest growing city of the UAE, being unlivable just 20 years ago. Fun fact- Dubai’s police force has some of the most luxurious cars one can imagine. Dubai’s population consists of nearly 3 million, but only a small percentage are native UAE residents. It has an income-tax free system and its official language is Arabic. We visited a destination that mixes modern culture with history and adventure with world class shopping and entertainment.
Our journey began on 16th march when we boarded the flight from Jodhpur to New Delhi where we had a halt for about 3 hours leading to which we landed in Dubai at 8 pm with hope in our eyes to live a trip filled with happiness and adventure. After our arrival we had dinner at an Indian restaurant on the way to our hotel where we stayed for the next 4 days.
Day 1, began with a dazzling sunshine. After our breakfast at the hotel we were all set to witness the day’s escapade which began with half day Dubai guided city orientation tour which covered Dubai heritage Village, Jumeirah mosque,Jumeirah Beach,Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and what not. The beauty and hard work of such a developed city was witnessed by us all. After our lunch we proceeded to one of the largest malls in the world- the Dubai Mall. There itself we visited the world’s tallest building- Burj Khalifa of a height of 829.8m. It felt like a dream to look at such spectacular and striking scenery. It felt unreal but the day didn’t end here, we proceeded to watch the famous fountain show which is also the world’s tallest performing fountain. After which we had our dinner and slept our whole, signing the day off.
Day 2, was packed and enchanting. After our breakfast we were transferred to Miracle Garden which is the world’s largest natural flower garden in the world with over 50 million flowers and 250 million plants. Its beauty was definitely mesmerizing. We had our lunch and thereafter got ready for our Desert Safari, which included Dune bashing, Dune Driving, Sun-set photography, Fire show, Henna painting, Tanoura show, etc. We were very delighted as we ended the day with delicious buffet and B.B.Q.
Day 3, was bold and ecstatic .We started the day with the Abu Dhabi city guided tour where we first visited the Grand Mosque which is the largest mosque in the country. A peaceful place, it is a key place of worship of daily prayers. Thereafter we visited the Presidential Palace (Qasr Al Watn) which was a well-structured meeting palace for the Presidents who visit Abu Dhabi. After lunch, we were transferred to our most awaited destination- The Ferrari World, the most adventurous and exciting place we had ever been. After this we had our dinner and later that night reached Dubai to have a pleasant sleep for the upcoming last day in Dubai.
Day 4, also our last day in Dubai was full of Joy and laughter. After our check-out from our hotel we went to the mall for extra shopping and after that had our tasteful lunch at a restaurant in Dubai. After lunch we went ahead to see the Museum of Future whose inside attractions speak volume to the visitors as how the world, especially Dubai, would be 50 years from now. It inspired us to be the productive future of our world. After that, we moved to the Marina Dhow Cruise where we had our dinner. We had the novel opportunity to cruise down the crystal waters of Dubai Marina in a traditional Dhow. Later in the night, we were transferred to the Dubai Airport to board our flight to Jodhpur via Bombay. The journey ended beautifully but the memories are to stay forever. We can’t thank enough for this amazing exposure and the teachers who were more occupied in taking a count of the students than to enjoy themselves. They were always there whenever we needed them and added more fun and joy to this remarkable trip.
