MATTHEW FLINDERS ANGLICAN COLLEGE, AUSTRALIA (RS ZOOM POSTCARD)

"Small Problems in a Big World: Environmental Issues in Your Area"

Matthew Flinders Anglican College organized a Postcard Call on 28th August 2024. As a part of their ongoing Environmental Awareness Campaign. The theme of the event was "Small Problems in a Big World: Environmental Issues in Your Area." The Postcard aimed to encourage students to identify and address local environmental problems that have a broader impact on the global environment. RKK’s participants were - Ruby Vangani, Rakshita Kothari, Divya Budhwani, Samaira Kachhwaha, Navya Jain, Mayurika Singh with their Student Leader - Iram Khan.

The participants were tasked with postcards that depicted small environmental problems in their communities and the steps they could take to resolve these issues. The idea was to foster a sense of responsibility and encourage practical solutions that could make a difference in their local surroundings.  The Postcards covered various topics, such as littering in local parks, water conservation, the importance of recycling and the protection of local wildlife. The students showcased their creativity through both written content and illustrations, making the event both educational and engaging. The competition highlighted the importance of addressing environmental issues at a local level and how small actions can contribute to larger global solutions. The Postcard was a success, with students demonstrating a strong understanding of the environmental challenges in their areas. The call not only raised awareness among the participants but also inspired the broader school community to take action in their own lives to protect the environment.
