ROUND SQUARE WORLD WIDE SHOW & TELL

Round Square is a worldwide network of over 250 like minded schools from 50 countries across six continents. The schools have a holistic approach to learning built around six pillars – Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership & Service. As part of a Worldwide Show and Tell event based on the theme “Traditional Sports in your country”, a 60 minute online meet was conducted on 7th May 2024 at 2.00 AM GMT. This translates to 7.30 AM IST as we are 5.30 hours ahead of GMT. Following 10 schools from three different nations- India, Australia and Thailand participated in the meet. 1.Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School, India 2.The Sagar School, India 3.Sunbeam School Lahartara, India 4.Sai International Residential School, India 5.Sai International School, India 6.Regent's School Bangkok, Thailand 7.Radford College, Australia 8.Daly College, India 9.The Mody School, India 10. The British School New Delhi, India The meet was very informative for everyone. We learnt from each other in the meeting. The students from India talked about Kabaddi, Gilli Danta, Carrom , Kho-Kho and other traditional games. Kho Kho especially caught the attention of Ms Florencia, our presenter from Round Square as a very intriguing game. We learnt about the traditional games in Thailand and Australia. One such mention was of a game involving Bull slaughter in ancient times. The game is thankfully banned now and seen as major animal cruelty across the globe. We also learnt from our fellow presenters and will surely plan to incorporate the good styles of their presentation in our future meets. The best part of this meet was a cross question and answer session. Each school asked the other school a question. This is a great way to interact and learn from each other.
