A Round Square Zoom Postcard, was hosted by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya on the 5th of October, 2022.
The participants- Soumya Joshi, Jaya Sankhla, Eva Mehta, Suhani Baheti, Ishika Gumasta and Sonali Kanwar, led by their team leader, Shruti Rathi represented RKK in the call based on the theme, “Lores of the past, living the legacy.”With around 100 delegates in the zoom call from around the planet, each had prepared a thought-provoking infographic regarding a heritage site from their region or country. The presentation of all the infographics combined was diverse and showcased unique cultures and heritage.
The Keynote Speaker for the evening, Mr. K. K. Muhammed, a Padma Shri awardee and the ex-Regional Director of the Archaeological Survey of India spoke about his number of temple restoration projects, particularly the ones in Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
He went into detail about the impact, heritage and history has on society and the complicated relationship between the two.
His dialogue with the participants of the meeting was provocative, stimulative and inspiring.
The 90 – minute call dispersed into a Baraza session, which included a student discussion regarding personal introductions, archelogy, heritage as well as the Keynote Speaker’s address.
The call happily ended with a presentation from the host school which showcased all the infographics made by the participating schools that included schools from Ireland, Japan, India and Pakistan.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, which the students involved will truly never be able to forget.
