On the occasion of celebrating 50th Anniversary of Round Square, Vidya Devi Jindal School hosted the Round Square Service Project from
25th to 30th December 2016 at the Orphanage “SHAISHAV KUNJ” Kaimari Road, Hisar, India and was attended by zealous RKKians of Classes VIII to XI Zeenat Kamdar, Swaroop Kanwar, Nandini Sodha, Khushi Choudhary, Trisha Singhvi, Anushree Sinha and Vaniza Dolwani with their Escort Teacher Ms Karuna Deb. This Service Project provided a platform for a wide variety of interactions between the delegates through an assortment of activities, trips group discussions.
The students worked in teams with other like - minded students from various Round Square member schools, mixing cement, bricks and generally mucking in to get the task done. Many opportunities were provided to hone the students’ leadership skills through taking a turn on leading tasks and activities. Students also learnt values like empathy and humility by spending time with children at the orphanage. A cleanliness drive, sightseeing and a visit to Rakhigarhi (site of Indus Valley civilization) and Jindal Stainless Steel Plant added more to their learning experience.
