19th to 21st April 2018, a team of 5 students, Poorvie Choudhary, Somyata Siyak, Simran Awasthi, Tisha Jain and Shambhavi Shekhar along with a Teacher Escort Mrs Shruti Naithani Ghildiyal attended All India Challenge Quiz and Hugh Catchpole Debates at the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun. The Debate included various formats involving six rounds of rigorous debating. The Quiz involved a Preliminary and a Final Round. It was supported by compelling and enthralling questioning that revolved around a variety of fields like History, Science, Media, Entertainment, Literature etc. The program also attracted students from other leading schools of India like Mayo College Girls’ School Ajmer, The Shriram School Aravali, Wynberg Allen, La Martinere Lucknow, Welham Girls’ School Dehradun, The Doon School Dehradun, Vasant Valley and St. Joseph’s Academy amongst 26 schools that participated. The most interesting topics were,
“This house believes that there must be walls between good neighbors” and “
This house believes that women can be empowered only when patriarchal norms of our society are demolished.” Although the teams did not qualify for the finals, it gained appreciation from the judges, the Commandant RIMC, Col Vivek Sharma and the Chief Guest, Mrs Rachna Malhotra.
