PINEGROVE SCHOOL, KASAULI ROAD, DHARAMPUR (7TH EDITION OF THE MOHINDER MEMORIAL BILINGUAL TURNCOAT DEBATE)

Winning and losing isn't important sometimes the journey is as important as the outcome.

With great enthusiasm, the students of RKK- Charvvi Jaiin, Riya Sharma, Yashasvi Karwasara with their Teacher Escort & Trainer Ms Awanesh Sharma left the portals of RKK for the 7th Mohinder Memorial Turncoat Bilingual Debate at Pinegrove School, Solan from 29th to 31st August 2024. They reached Solan on the evening of 28th August with a spirit to learn and grow,  all were ready to face the challenges which were about to come their way. This event brought together renowned elite  schools from all over the country such as LK Sighania Gotan, PPS Nabha,St. Divine Soldier,Doon School Dehardun,  YPS Patiala, PGS, Solan, RKKGPS, Jodhpur, and many others.

On the very first day, they were allotted different topics during evening hours based on their  pools - Riya Sharma was in Pool A with the Topic- 'One country one election is the only way forward to reform the electoral process'- which she had to propose in Hindi and oppose the motion in English and Yashaswi Karwasara was in Pool B with the topic  'Military conscription should be made compulsory for all in India'- which she had to propose in English and oppose in Hindi. Also, the debaters had to present a rebuttal to serve the criteria of Turncoat Bilingual Debate.

With two hours allotted for research, the students fervently prepared for the Preliminary Round scheduled for the following morning. While their journey to the finals was cut short, it was encouraging to see the judge acknowledge the performance and spirit of one of the RKKians in the Closing Ceremony. It was truly uplifting to have the opportunity to debate and let the voices resonate across such a stunning campus. The experience was a wonderful learning journey for all the delegates, and as first-timers. Driven by the determination to achieve even greater things.
