MAYO COLLEGE GIRLS' SCHOOL, AJMER (WORLD SCHOLAR'S CUP REGIONAL ROUND 2024)


 The World Scholar's Cup Regional Round 2024, at Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer on 30th April and 1st May 2024 started with a combination of mixed feelings of excitement, nervousness, fear and fun. Entire WSC was divided into 4 events : Team Debate, Team Collaborative Writing, Quiz, Scholar's Bowl.  There were 14 schools and almost 350 participants all over the country  :

All teams had 3 rounds of debate, with motions creative and out of the box, one of the was : If we had a portal to connect to a copy of the Earth in the 1800s we should share our technology with them.

The Collaborative Writing offered a plethora of unconventional topics like, If a generation of children had never heard music, what would their first piece sound like? and why? What if all the seasons lasted for nine months each instead of three ? You are appointed to construct a museum to display, "The Decade that Changed Everything", what would the museum look like? If a famous book had modern medicine in the plot, how would the book end?

Quiz had 120 questions in 60 minutes, which asked for time management and a deep understanding of the content given ranging from Books, Art, Science, Paining, Orchestra and Technology.

WSC believes in creating a new generation of lateral thinkers. To add more spark to this journey the participants had a talent show, where many  performed live, which left the audience in awe. In short, it can be said that the WSC format is all the curious questions of childhood and answering them with college level expertise. Which is what we call is 21st century learning. Finally, it can be said that the entire event was about recall, reading and research.

350 participants doing this, we have joined a community which are thinkers and scholars. And the sense of pride each of the 9 students of RKKGPS felt taking the well deserved prizes home cannot be put into words, knowing the collective efforts of boosting each others morale to pointing out the weak areas and working on them.

Achievers in the Junior Division

·        Brinda Rana, got Silver ranking in, Team Scholar's Bowl , Team Writing and Individual Writing.

·        Bhavika Jalani, got Silver ranking, Team Scholar's Bowl, Team Writing, and Individual Writing.

·        Naavya Rathi, got Silver ranking in Team Scholars' Bowl, Team Writing and Gold ranking in Individual Writing.

·        Pearl Singhvi, got Silver ranking in Team Debate, Team Writing, and Individual Debate and Gold ranking in Individual Writing.

·        Nandini Khichi, got Silver ranking in Team Debate, Team Writing, Individual Debate and Gold Ranking in Individual writing.

·        Samaira Dias, got Silver ranking in Team Writing, Team Debate and Individual Writing. Gold ranking in Individual Debate.

Achievers in the Senior Division

·        Bhavya Singh Rawat, got Silver Ranking in Team Writing, Global qualifier and Gold ranking in Team Debate, Individual Writing.

·        Unnati Shekhwat, got Silver Ranking in Team Debate, Individual Writing, Subject-wise challenge, Overall quiz, Global qualifier and Gold ranking in Team Debate, Individual Writing and Overall Second Runner up student of WSC - Unnati

·        Samridhi Charan, got Silver Ranking in Team Debate, Individual Writing, Subject-wise challenge, Global qualifier and Gold ranking in Team Debate, Quiz.
