The Jaipur Debate 2023 hosted by Neerja Modi School, Jaipur from 3rd to 5th August 2023. The competition brought together talented debaters from various schools from all across India like The Doon School, The Emerald Heights International School, Vasant Valley School, etc. providing a platform to showcase their oratory skills, critical thinking and team work.
The debate competition featured four preliminary rounds, followed by quarter finals, semi-finals and finals for both Juniors as well as Seniors, and were flawlessly conducted by the Aawaaz Foundation. The topics for the debates were announced on the day of the competition. Participants were given 30 minutes of preparation time before presenting their arguments. The format followed was the ‘Asian Parliamentary Debate’. The debates were intense and thought-provoking, with each team showcasing their unique perspective on the given topics. In the finals, The Doon School competed against The Emerald Heights International School and emerged as the champions of the Inter-School Debate Competition, securing a well-deserved victory.
Even though our team could not make it further than the preliminary rounds, our senior and junior teams acquired an incomparable experience. Two speakers of the
Senior Teams: Unnati Shekhawat and Ayanaa Beniwal, received the Best Speaker Award in the Preliminary rounds. Unnati received the same twice in the entire rounds.
