RKK- Manasvi Salecha, Sheetal Johari, and Lauren Bishnoi escorted by Asha Bajpai Ma’am left the portals of RKK for the
5th Mohinder memorial Turncoat Bilingual Debate at Pinegrove School, Solan on 26th & 27th August 2022. They reached Solan on the morning of 25th August and with a spirit to learn and grow, all were ready to face the challenges which were about to come their way.
On the very first day, they were allotted different topics during evening hours based on their pools - Manasvi Salecha was in Pool A with the Topic- 'War is a necessary evil'- which she had to propose in Hindi and oppose the motion in English and Sheetal Johari was in Pool B with the topic 'Indian democracy has matured completely'- which she had to propose in English and oppose in Hindi and at the end. Also the debators had to present a rebuttal to serve the criteria of Turncoat Bilingual debate.
The participants got a night to prepare accordingly. The day for the preliminary round arrived and debaters were ready to express their ideas in the best way possible. It included the following teams- Emerald Heights Indore, RIMC Dehradun, The Mann School Delhi, PPS Nabha, and many more. There were renowned judges that included - Captain Sudhir Diwan, Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Ms Anju Mehta and Mr. Hemank Kapil. Though the competition was tough but the ideas of RKKians were tougher , marked by free and fierce thinking which paved the way to being selected for the finals as a team.
Then, there was no looking back. The Chief Guest of the final round was Mr Vivek Atray , a renowned personality , a motivational speaker and a former IAS. The topic for the round was , 'Centralised testing for college admission is the only key to fairness and transparency.' This time again RKK left no stone unturned. Manasvi Salecha was honored with
‘Consolation Prize’, and Sheetal Johari won the
‘2nd Best Speaker’ in Individual Speaker category. Lauren was felicitated as a Researcher.
Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School won the ‘Overall Winner Trophy' as a team. It was a proud moment for the entire RKK family to cherish this victory.
