“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you”Following this gospel, the students of RKK zestfully participated in the
5th Edition of Jim Corbett- Pandit GB Pant Memorial Annual FG Pearce Young Ideators’ Conclave-2022 hosted by Birla Vidya Mandir, Nainital from 28th May to 30th May 2022. The event featured Six activities that focused on critical, idea-based thinking and health consciousness.
Following the mantra, ‘Be LOUD, Be CLEAR and Make a difference’, Vrinda Dubey (XII) and Mumal Deora (XII) successfully participated in the MULTI-FORMAT ENGLISH DEBATE under the guidance of Mrs Sandhya Mudgal. The competition comprised Extempore and Turncoat debate where the speakers delivered articulate speeches on the topics “Unless one lives and loves in the trenches, it is difficult to remember that the war against dehumanisation is ceaseless” and “THBT Placing political conditions on humanitarian aid is unjust” respectively. Vrinda bagged the
Most Promising Speaker Award in the Turncoat Debate.
The event CREATIVE WRITING helped the writers of RKK to find their voice through the unspoken inked words. Under the mentorship of Mrs Reshma Bhattacharjee, Suhani Lodha (IX B) and Hemangini Bhati (XII B) took part in the event individually. The task given to them was to write a prose, a poetry or even a combination of both. The topic presented was a quote by Albert Einstein that read, "Two things are infinite: the Universe and Human Stupidity and I'm not sure about the Universe." Hemangini won the Joint Second Position in the event.
Someone rightly said, “Art is not what you see but what you make others see”. Under the able guidance of Mr Yatheesh Kasaragod and Mr Manoj Sandha, a team of four students, Akshata Acharya (XII) Aastha Vyas (XII), Hemangini Bhati (XII) and Manasvi Salecha (XII) took part in MULTI DISCIPLINARY KINETIC Art Installation and Still Life. The theme for the impromptu event was, ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost. The students experimented with the themes of conventional and non-conventional ways women have managed to mould the society that has oppressed them for far too long. Manasvi and Hemangini, portrayed ‘The Freedom of Independence’ in Still Art Installation. The team bagged the
Critics’ Choice Award in Still Life.
We all know, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self”. In the Yoga Competition, Pooja Bishnoi of Class VI performed two difficult Asanas - Bakasana and Astavakrasana and Diya Shinghvi of Class VII performed Ustrasana. Under the able guidance of Dr Sita Kumari, RKK Yoga Team won the
"BEST RUNNER - UP DELEGATION AWARD".
Another event was REV.F.S. Ditto Memorial Inter School General Quiz Contest in which more than 300 Students from 30 Schools of 11 States participated. Arya Bhootra and Lauren of Class XII represented RKK.
“One Child, One Teacher, One pen and One book can change the world.” Inspired by this quote, four enthusiastic students, Reet Mehta, Adwitiya Saxena, Meha Loonker and Piya Salecha along with their teacher in charge, Mrs. Asha Bajpai, participated in the Living Newspaper Challenge. They made an exhilarating video through which they portrayed their creativity and knowledge.
All inclusive, the event gave a wonderful opportunity to know more about the current situation. It proved to be an informative and knowledge enriching competition. The competition provided yet another wonderful opportunity to the students to represent their school on a huge platform, thereby helping them to explore new skills and seek opportunities. It was a magnificent opportunity for the students to broaden their horizons.
