‘Learning is not gaining information, it is embedded in the feelings and the associated profound experiences which indeed leaves a blueprint on our lives. What our students gained from the leaders of great character, is a contrast of sensitivity and in-depth imagery of realistic experiences’.Welham Boy's School, Dehradun conducted a
Virtual Military History Seminar on
29th and 30th October 2021. Twelve students from RKK took part - Sheetal Johari, Vidisha Bindal, Vanshika Arora, Prathna Sancheti, Piya Salecha, Pari Salecha, Kritika Gill, Yashna Parashar, Harshita Khichi, Tanvi Jain, Zeal Gogar and Mansi Rathore with their Teacher Incharge, Mrs Priti Goyal. Though this conference was a one way seminar where the participants had to listen and then prepare a post seminar report, but for orientation and better understanding of the issues, several meets for training were organized.
The conference was a journey in itself, a truthful tale of struggles which stirs individualistic sympathy and tides of emotions from the very core whose motive was not only to initiate a talk on Indo-Pak War but to enlighten human’s undeterred potential for tolerance and resolute commitment against injustice. The war was an external cause but the central reason was the consistent chain of genocide, suppression of individuality and lack of acceptance is what made this conference palpable and everlasting.
A report was sent to the host school by Sheetal Johari and Prathna Sancheti of the entire conference, which made every participant realize the importance of defence system for a nation because the strength lies in our military whose success is measured how loyal, humane, patriotic and disciplined it is based on the roots of intense struggle and pain.
