ASSAM VALLEY SCHOOL, ASSAM (14TH EAST INDIA DEBATES)

A team of 3 Students, Sakshi Verma, Divija Sharma and Shivranjini Sodha with Escort Teacher Ms Mousumi Maharana  participated in the 14th East India Debates organized by Assam Valley School, Balipara, Assam from 6th to 10th September 2018.

Total 12 schools from all over country participated in the 14th East India Debates and gave their best performances. The debates were held in a modified Cambridge / Parliamentary form. Some of the fiery topics were ‘It is right for Indian parents to expect their children to look after them’, ‘Today’s heroes are hollow’ etc. It was a very enriching experience for all because the delegates learnt how to form structural debates and put forward strong rebuttals.

Result :

RKK reached Quarter Finals.

Divija Sharma and Shivrajini Sodha were awarded as the ‘Best Speakers’ of the prelims.

Divija Sharma was awarded as the 3rd ‘Best Speaker’ of the debate.
