THE IPSC VISUAL ART FEST 2022 (VIRTUAL)


Keeping in tandem with the objectives of the IPSC, RKK always structures its curriculum and calendar which caters to the needs of present generation and nurtures the traits of initiative, responsibility, self-discipline, camaraderie, team spirit, fair play, refined taste and public service in its students. RKK felt overwhelmed and proud to receive the honour of conducting The IPSC Visual Arts Fest from 18th to 20th July 2022 on the theme “Hum Ek Hain : Harmony”. It was nothing less than a national exposure at an All India Inter School level. 385 young delegates from 32 IPSC schools participated zealously and enthusiastically, spreading vibrancy on virtual mode to this art fest with their genius.

This Fest witnessed extraordinary participation from the following schools :

An array of myriad events were organized which comprised 16 events - Still Life, Portrait Drawing, Outdoor Landscape, Digital Poster Making, Pop Relief Work, Tile Mosaic, Doodling, Collage Making, Cartooning, Mandala, String Art, Face Painting & Headgear, Macramé, Clay Modeling, Imagination Art and Flower Making that garnered into a seamless and unforgettable experience.

The proceedings of each day are as follows:

18th July 2022 (Day- I) :  The Opening Ceremony was presided over by His Highness, Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji. The Ceremony commenced with the Saraswati Installation and lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp by the dance faculty , which was followed by the Welcome Speech by the School Head Girl, the Chief Guest’s Address, and Administration of the Oath by Ma’am Principal. Subsequently, the Guest of Honour addressed the gathering where, Chi Su Krishna Shetty Sir inspired our participants with his electrifying words and his valuable insight which thrilled the participants and revved them up for the fest. This was followed by the Grand Finale dance to conclude the Opening Ceremony. In the second phase of the first day, an  impactful address by the Keynote Speaker for the day, Dr Raghavendra Rao H Kulkarni,  enlightened the audience about the significance and beauty of art.  The judges for the day, who graced the portals of RKK and shared their invaluable experiences were, Mrs. Shalini Soni Mazumdar, Sir Ram Pratap Verma, Mr. Vinod Pattel, Mr. Jai Ranjit, and Ms. Bhavana Basumatry.  The first event of the day was ‘Still Life’,  wherein participants truly brought life to ordinary objects through their highly commendable skills which were appreciated by one and all. The next event was ‘Portrait Drawing’, in which young painters put their heart and soul into their portraits that seemed alive and truly revealed their distinct talent. After a short break, the next event for the day, 'Outdoor Landscape’,  took place. The realistic portrayal of the world around us and remarkable attention to detail was a sight to behold. The following event was ‘Digital Poster Making’, wherein participants showcased exceptional talent in both creativity and digital skills. The final event for the day was ‘POP Relief Work’. The variety and intricacy of each sculpture carved was wonderful to see. 

19th July 2022 (Day – II)   :  The morning of the second day witnessed a magnificent portrayal of the ‘Journey of Indian Art’ in the form of an enactment. The performance that was put together, was a true reflection of how beautifully Indian art has come to be, as we know it today. The judges for the day included Mrs Maushmi Ganguly,  Mr Jayanta Khan, Dr Neerja Chandra Peters, Mr Mon Pal, Mr B.N Vichar, and Mr Ashish Ghosh, respectively. Each of them brought along an educative discourse and insightful advice that we all were blessed to be a part of. The first event of the day was ‘Tile Mosaic’. The participants pieced together such exquisite works that left us all in awe.  The next event was ‘Doodling’. An amalgamation between ideas of the subconscious to portrayal in reality and participants did not disappoint in their doodles, depicting both with equal ease. The next event of the day was ‘Collage Making’,  in which the participants put together a beautiful creation using the simplest materials. Their skill and talent was appreciated by all. The Keynote Speaker of the day, Mr. Amit Kalla then addressed the gathering. He stressed the importance and value of art and inspired the audience to continue striving through trials and tribulations and keep the spirit of art and the spark of creativity alive forever. Following a short break,  the next event 'Cartooning' took place. Through their creative and witty caricatures, the participants swept us off our feet in astonishment. This was followed by the ‘Mandala’ event in which the participants showcased an innovative and inspiring approach to their works which left us all spellbound. The final event for the day was ‘String Art’, in which, the participants wove together such magnificent pieces that seemed so delicate and intricate, that we could not help but be rendered speechless.  

20th July 2022 (Day – III) :  The third and final day commenced with a Musical Art Installation by Mr Pradeepta Kishore Das, an acclaimed artist of national level. The beauty of his art was so mesmerizingly depicted that words would fall short in explaining its divinity. The final day were Mr Ashok Kumar Gopalan,  Jaskanwal Jit Kaur Ma’am, Mr Suresh K Nair, Mr VG Venugopal, and Mr Rupesh Nanaiah respectively. All the judges encouraged the participants and enlightened the audience with their words of wisdom.

We started with the first event of the day started with the ‘Face Painting & Headgear’,  where the participants did justice to the magnificence and intricacy of the art with their skillful and experienced hands. The next event was ‘Macrame’ where masterpieces were wove together that were simply awesome. ‘Clay Modelling’ was the next event in the sequence. The participants meticulously executed the task of making lifelike clay models with such skill that it seemed as though the statues would walk and talk. Before the next event was taken up, the entire audience livened up to the stimulating discourse of the Keynote Speaker of the day, Ms. Bulbul Chaudhury.
