Date : 10th to 15th December 2019
DAY 1 (10th DECEMBER 2019)As a part of cultural exchange programme a team of The Heritage School, Jammu reached Jodhpur early morning of 10th December 2019 and was received by staff of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girl's Public School at Jodhpur railway station.
The visiting team comprising 17 students and 3 escort teachers were formally welcomed in the morning assembly by traditional way of adorning Tilak & presenting roses.
The team was taken to Annapurna dining hall for breakfast followed by School Darshan. Visiting team was taken aback by surprise and awe when they heard the musical notes of "Padharo Mahre Desh" played for them on flute while visiting music room of Rajmata School.
Immediately after lunch, their visit to Umaid Bhawan Palace followed by Mehrangarh Fort was organised. The visiting students were filled with wonder by the grandeur and architecture of both the Palace and the Fort.
They were then taken to the famous Janta Sweet Home for savouring local delicacies like Mirchi Vada and Pyaj Ki Kachori which was appreciated by one and all.
Having experience this historical and culinary extravaganza, the team returned happily to Rajmata School. A dinner was organised for them followed by bonfire and rounds of Antakshari between students and teachers of Rajmata and Heritage Schools. Students retired to bed around 10:30 pm.
DAY 2 (11th DECEMBER 2019)11th December being the 2nd day of Heritage School Jammu at Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girl's Public School, Jodhpur, was full of learning values with respect to history, culture, music and traditions of Rajasthan.
The students started their second day at Rajmata School around 07:00 am with a fulfilling breakfast followed by a dance workshop from 08:30 am to 10:30 am. It is believed that music and dance forms are the manifestation of human emotions therefore these are peculiar to specific area. The students were exposed to the various dance forms of Rajasthan. The famous Rajasthani dance and song "Mera Assi Kali Ka Lehnga Dekho" was presented to the visiting students. The theme of workshop was liked by one and all.
From 10:30 am to 12:30 am a musical workshop called "Swar Sadhna"was conducted wherein students were educated on various musical forms of Rajasthan and Jodhpur in particular. This workshop was an eye opener for visiting students as how a state like Rajasthan can be so vibrant and diverse in terms of its cultural heritage. The famous Rajasthani song "Gorband Nakhralo" was showcased to the visiting students and it was further deliberated upon to make them understand the meaning of the song and the occasions to perform it.
After having lunch, the students from Heritage School were invited to take part in a ‘Talent Hunt’ programme, which was flawlessly conducted by the teachers of Rajmata School. Students from guest school showcased their talent and won high accolades from all.
At around 04: 30 pm students were served with refreshments followed by an ‘Art and Craft’ workshop in the Art Room of Rajmata School.
Dinner was served at Annapurna dining hall at 8:45 pm followed by a DJ session to unwind themselves. Both host and guest students enjoyed the DJ session. Students retired to bed at around 10:30 pm.
DAY 3 (12TH DECEMBER 2019)The day three started with much vigour and enthusiasm wherein excellent choir performances were showcased. The Rajasthani song "Gorbandh" was performed by visiting students, which was learnt by them a day prior at Rajmata School in Music Workshop. Thereafter, visiting students performed a Dogri song. Dogra soldiers are one of the finest soldiers and their martial traditions are well known. The same was expressed by visiting students in a famous Dogri song "Bhala Sipahiya Dogriya".
Breakfast was served at 08:30 am and around 9:30 am guest students were taken to famous Mandore Garden. Thereafter, they moved towards world famous heritage site of Osian Temple. On the way a lot of merry making happened in the form of Antakshari and other fun games. Lunch was also organised there for guest students.
Jeep and Camel Safari was enjoyed the most by visiting students. Fun games organised on sand dunes were liked by everyone, especially the students who are from hills and were first time exposed to deserts.
While coming back, guest students enroute were served local delicacy, "Dal Ke Pakore" and tea. They also visited ‘Peanut Processing Plant’ in midway and returned to school.
After having dinner students engaged themselves in the game of Dumb Charade for some time and around 10:30 pm retired to bed.
DAY 4 (13th DECEMBER 2019)The day four was special in terms of learning and execution. Dance performances by guest students during morning assembly were conducted which included the Dogri Dance and the Rajasthani Dance on the song "Assi kali Ka Lehnga" which was learnt by them a day prior in a dance workshop.
After breakfast the guest students were made to attend a workshop on Art and Craft. One more workshop was organised on the subject of helping the poor and needy people under the aegis of Project "Prayaas".
During evening, the guest students were invited for Hi Tea at the residence of Mrs Neera Singh, Principal Rajmata School. It proved to be a excellent platform for a candid conversation and a sincere feedback from visiting students about their stay. Certificates and gifts were presented to the students and escort teachers by Mrs Neera Singh. The movie Jumanji was witnessed by the guest students and at around 10:30 pm they retired to bed.
DAY 5 (14th DECEMBER 2019)Day five started with physical workout in the form of Zumba followed by breakfast at Annapurna from 9:00 hrs.
From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm guest students were engaged in creative art training of Tye & Dye. Lunch was laid out at Annapurna, followed by rest. Refreshments were in the evening followed by Treasure Hunt conducted at school green lawns, which was participated and enjoyed by one and all. After this recreational activity, visiting students were taken for orientation of school's State of Art Squash Courts and Shooting Ranges. This visit provided them an insight into school's continued pursuit in the field of sports.
At around 08:00 pm dinner was served to the guest students followed by exclusive bonding time of one and a half hour and around 10:30 pm they retired to bed.
