MAKAR SANKRANTI AND LOHARI CELEBRATION


On the 15th of January, students celebrated the harvest festival with great fervour. The focus of the festivities was on Makar Sankranti, and the students were engrossed in an enlightening session on its astronomical and scientific significance.

Various engaging activities such as speeches, group discussions, short story telling sessions, engaging poem recitations, watching informative video etc were organized for different classes to enrich the celebration. Students delved into the art of creating cards, wall hangings, kite shaped book marks, Pongal pots making, kite making, infusing their creations with meaningful messages. The atmosphere was vibrant with the rhythmic beats of Gidda dance, showcasing the cultural diversity embedded in the Lohari festival.

A special mention was made of the Aditya Mission, providing an opportunity for students to delve into the broader understanding of celestial bodies and their influence on cultural celebrations.

In essence, the Harvest Festival celebration not only enriched the students' cultural awareness but also fostered creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the scientific underpinnings of Makar Sankranti. The day concluded with a sense of shared joy and learning, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
