BIRLA VIDYA MANDIR, NAINITAL (IPSC DANCE FESTIVAL 2023)


A team of eight enthusiastic students - Shreeaa Rathi, Mehu Sunil Verma, Sanika Gehlot, Ashmi Shrimali, Yashvi Soni, Lavanya Singh, Yosana Choudhary, Rana Sakshiba  accompanied by two trainer and escorts  - Ms Daksha Singh & Ms Neetu Parihar embarked on an exciting journey for IPSC Dance Fest 2023. Their stay at Shalimar Hotel arranged by their host school Birla Vidya Mandir Nainital, awaited. The adventure began with a series of competitions on August 3rd. The initial event was the "Frames" Western Dance Video Film competition in which RKK achieved excellence in dance and movement pedagogy, securing the prestigious outstanding title. The subsequent day witnessed two more competitions: the Classical and Folk Fusion categories. Although they didn't secure a victory, they gained invaluable experience and skills. On the third day, students eagerly participated in the Torque or Dialogue Dance competition. Once again, their dedication paid off, resulting in securing the outstanding title for dance and movement pedagogy.

In the midst of these competitions, the team had the privilege of exploring the historic 155-year-old school Birla Vidya Mandir premises, nestled amidst picturesque trees at an elevated location. The tour encompassed visits to the renowned Naina Devi Temple, as well as Sathtal and Bheemtal, unveiling the natural beauty of the region.

The return journey commenced on August 6th and concluding on August 7th in Jodhpur.  The proud participants and winners were : Sanika Gehlot and Yosana Choudhary for participation and for their Outstanding Performance in Dance and movement pedagogy for the 'Frames' Western Dance category. Mehu Sunil Verma, Ashmi Shrimali, Yashvi Soni, Rana Sakshiba, Shreeaa Rathi for participation and for their Outstanding Display of Dance and movement pedagogy in the Torque or Dialogue Dance competition.
