Thirteen IPSC schools took part in this event.

Opening Ceremony on Day 1 commenced with LK Singhania’s grand Orchestra performance which left us all in awe, followed by a spectacular performance by the school Pipe Band. Then the students of the host school presented a beautiful dance on Ganesh Vandana followed by an inspiring yoga routine presentation and the traditional Ghoomar dance.  The event commenced with the first category of the competition, the Indian Classical Vocal (Solo), where students showcased their singing talent individually. The second category was the Patriotic Hindi Group Song, where students displayed their singing skills in coordination as a group, with self compiled songs of unity and patriotism towards their country.

Day 2 was dedicated entirely to Western music, with the first event of the day being a display of Western Orchestra from each school. Though we did not participate in this category, the students witnessed and appreciated all the talented performances. Next in line was the Western Instrumental (Solo) category, where the musicians performed flawlessly. The last event of the evening was the Western Vocal (Solo) category, wherein all the singers performed confidently.

On Day 3, the first category was the Bhajan Duet. All the performances were absolutely divine and left the audience in a state of spiritual bliss. This was followed by the second category of the day, Indian Classical Orchestra. All performances were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and received overwhelming compliments by the audience. The last category of the event was the Indian Classical Instrumental (Solo) and each school was represented by excellent musicians.

The Closing Ceremony was the cherry on the cake, with the best five performances of the entire event being chosen to perform again for the Chief Guests of the evening. Despite the fact that we were not able to win a place in the top 3, RKK’s Bhajan Duet was recognised and given the privilege to be performed as one of the five best performances in the course of the event.

This experience was a collective triumph for our musical team. Since they are just starting out, it was crucial for them to understand the level of competition in the current arena of music. It was also essential for them to go through rigorous competition and to realise that in the end, winning or losing does not matter if one gets to witness and learn from such brilliant performances by talented students from across the country. Every performance in the event was executed with such confidence and panache, it gave our students an insight into the world of truly soul-stirring music and has ignited a passion in their hearts to work twice as hard and do better next time. These students have learnt important social skills like being independent, amiable, kind and humble. They have learnt the importance of hard work and of being appreciative of their own as well as others’ talents. This was an eye opening and an uplifting adventure for our dear students and such opportunities will help in the development of not only their musical expertise but also their core personalities that will propel them to achieve success in their life ahead.
