DEBATING & TRAINING SESSION FOR STUDENTS


"This House believes that - RKK tries its best to bloom a child.” In order to bloom the young orators, RKK conducted a Debate Workshop for Super -50 of grades VI to XII which took place on 30th and 31st July 2023. The trainers were Mr. Siddhanth Nair and Mr. Sambhav Kataria. They both, with their knowledge and experience, opened the doors to the debate world. On day 1 it started with a fun activity ‘Human Bingo’. Participants were then enlightened with some tips for a good debate. This was followed by breakfast. Thereafter, students were separated into 2 groups Juniors and Seniors respectively. In the respective batches, they learnt about the various forms of debating such as Asian Parliamentary Debate, Turncoat, Extempore, Block and Tackle, Presidential Debate and also had a session on MUNs. Day 1 ended with tips and tricks to ace a debate and fun activities and games. Day 2 commenced with a combined session where students practiced Presidential debate, Asian Parliamentary debate and Block and Tackle. They were then separated into two groups post breakfast and were taught and told about the common problems of India and contemporary topics through more fun activities. The activities greatly influenced the thinking skills and taught the Super – 50 Debaters to work well under pressure. The seniors had a great discussion on career options, colleges and universities abroad, followed by an explanation of the British Parliamentary form of debate. The workshop was wrapped up with a thrilling combined activity called ‘Desired Country’. The participants gathered a lot of knowledge and broadened their perspectives.
