“TELL ME AND I FORGET, TEACH ME AND I MAY REMEMBER, INVOLVE ME AND I LEARN”

The Grade 3 students of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public school went on a field trip to Army Cantonment, Jodhpur on 10th May 2023. They were accompanied by the class teachers and one sports teacher. The field trip was organised by 70 Armd Regt under the able guidance of Col M S Rathore.

Upon arriving at the 70 Armd Regt, the students were greeted by Lt Col Kulwant Rana. JCO’s of the regiment briefed the children about the arsenal of weapons used in warfare and the role of soldiers in protecting the country. They were also given a tour of the unit .They were given a display of the driving simulator for T-90 tanks used in warfare.

The students were taken to a tank for a ride. They were briefed about the safety measures. The tank crew explained to them about the tank’s different parts and their functions. The students were excited to learn about the tank’s heavy armor, powerful engine and formidable main gun.

During the ride, the tank traversed over rough terrain, crossed obstacles and demonstrated its power. The students were thrilled to experience the bumpy ride and the loud noise of tank’s engine. They also got to witness the crew’s communication, coordination, and teamwork during the ride.

Overall, the visit to the army cantonment and the tank ride was an exciting and educational experience for the Grade 3 students. It helped them understand the importance of national defense and security and appreciate the sacrifices made by the soldiers to protect their country. The students returned to their school with unforgettable memories and a deeper respect for the armed forces. This outdoor learning turned out to be very enlightening for them.
