AVS, ASSAM – VIRTUAL ROUND SQUARE LITERARY FEST 2020 - 'CELE-FIESTA’

“Literature is the art of discovering something extraordinary about ordinary people, and saying with ordinary words something extraordinary. Literature is one's imagination and apprehension of the world. Art and Literature are more than words and paintings are more like expression.”

It’s indeed apparent that in unprecedented times like these what commences and stirs ray of happiness, hope and gaiety is the art of self expression. Keeping up with this spirit, the Assam Valley School, Assam organised a fest based on the theme ‘Appreciate Diverse Literature’ called 'Cele-Fiesta’.

This literary fest was quickly acknowledged by Rajmata Krishna Kumar Girls’ Public School and a group of 8 students - Jaya Sankhla, Divya Vishnoi, Sana Kakkar, Sanika Kakkar, Nikita Vijayan, Nandini Shekhawat, Gunjan Jangid and Suhani Baheti took part with an overwhelming zeal.

The fest was scheduled on 30th and 31st October 2020. Multiple events took place scheduled across the two days. While the Slam Poetry was an event to let the children unfurl the hidden poet amongst them and unveil their poetry skills, there were events like ‘Become a Character’, where one had to become a mythological character.

To add another feather to the already grand virtual fest was a meet and greet session with two renowned authors namely Mrs Rita Chowdhury and Ms Janice Pariat both recipients of the Sahitya Akademy Award. It was indeed a rejuvenating session that encouraged the participants to take pride in their indigenous art, literature and culture.

As rightly said “All good things come to an end” and so did this fest but the enriching experience that the participants had will always be remembered.
