SERVICE BEFORE SELF (PROGRAM ON THALASSEMIA)

Inspired by the IDEALS of Round Square in collaboration with Rotary Club of Shivangi, Jodhpur, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School proudly hosted a cultural event, ‘Miles of Smiles’ : ‘Muskurahat Ka Safar’, filled with lot of fun activities for the children associated with Rotary Thalassemia Day Care Centre, Jodhpur, on 23rd February 2022. It was possible under the effective and dynamic initiative taken by Mrs Neera Singh, Principal, RKKGPS, Jodhpur. The event began with a mesmerizing welcome performance given by the school students, Tanishtha Rajvi (5C), Kaira Tomar (3A), Panini Kasargod (2A) and Samaira Tomar (1A), teachers - Ms Piyushree Shukla and Ms Daksha Singh. The event was organized under the able guidance of Mrs Indra Shaktawat, Dean of Activities and Mr Yateesh Kasargod, Head of Department of Arts. Mr Vimal Verma and Ms Aashna Jain hosted the event. Many esteemed members associated with the Rotary Club including Mr Vinod Bhatia, Chairman, Rotary Blood Bank, Mr Surendra Bhargava, Secretary Rotary Blood Bank, Mr Sanjay Malviya, District Governor of Rotary Club Jodhpur, Mrs Rajshree Choudhary, Assistant Governor of Rotary Club, Mr Lavender Singh Rathore, Assistant Governor, Rotary Club, Mrs Rita Goyal, President of Rotary Club Shivangi, Mrs Rekha Jain, Secretary of Rotary Club Shivangi, Mrs Manisha Malviya, Program Coordinator, Dr Rahul Bhandari, MO In-charge of Rotary Blood Bank and Ms Bhavana, Coordinator, Rotary Thalassemia Day Care Centre, became an active and crucial part of the social event. Members of Rotary Club Shivangi felicitated Mrs Neera Singh, Principal, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School and all the other associated esteemed members. Mr Sanjay Malviya, District Governor of Rotary Club, Jodhpur, addressed the gathering and encouraged everyone with his kind and wise words. Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls' Public School has always believed in making a difference and bringing joy to everyone in every way possible. Therefore, the event "Miles of Smiles: Muskurahat ka Safar" was planned to give each kid a reason to smile and celebrate life. On this happy occasion, the Royal Family also sent their heart-warming message for the thalassemic children and their parents. The event was filled with wonderfully designed activities beginning from 'Masti ki Basti'- Sport fun-filled games, 'Artshala'- Smiles on Canvas art, 'Talaash-e-hunar'-Talent Hunt which was enjoyed by everyone. All of the children along with their parents participated and enjoyed each activity jovially. Every child was awarded and facilitated by a token of appreciation for each activity. Dr Pramod Sharma and Dr Vikas Katewa also joined the program from the Pediatrics Department of Umaid Hospital. The event ended with an informative address for parents by Dr Namita Bhandari, Dietician & Nutritionist, which was followed by a delicious lunch treat arranged by the school for everyone. The joy that children felt after the conclusion of the program could be witnessed from the glow and huge smiles they had on their faces.
