REDUCING INEQUALITIES

“Inequality is poison that is destroying livelihoods, stripping families of dignity and splitting communities.”

A team of 6 delegates - Rudrani Rathore Veeya Bohra, Kaveena Maheshwari, Yashi Shah, Madhurima Rathore and Dimpy Rathi with Teacher Escort Ms Reena Mishra attended the Round Square Conference held at Genesis Global School, Noida from 26th May to 30th May 2018. The theme of the conference was ‘Reducing Inequality.’ 15 schools participated in the Conference like The Daly College Indore, The Emerald Heights International School Indore, Mayo College Girls’ School Ajmer, Mody School Laxmangarh,  Assam Valley Assam, Sanskar Valley Bhopal, Him Academy  Hamirpur, Yadvindra Public School, Doon School Dehradun, Millenium School Dubai, Welham Boys’ School Dehradun, Modern School New Delhi, Genesis Global School Noida and Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur.

Highly energetic ice breaking session followed by interactive and exuberating barazas sessions soon converted strangers into friends. There was a dinner where the entire delegation was divided into 3 groups – upper class, middle class, and lower class and were served food according to the status of their class. This made then understand the ground reality of inequalities that exists in society. The Conference was declared open by the 1st Keynote Speaker Mr. Shreyansh Bhandari, an athlete by profession. Visit to an animal shelter, adventure activities, keynote speeches by Mr Kabir Mustafi and Mrs vandana enlightened the participants about the wider aspects of inequality which made the delegates realise that inequality hinders the development of a nation.
