FINANCIAL LITERACY SESSION ORGANISED BY MASTERS’ UNION INVESTMENT FUND

A session on Financial Literacy was organised at Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School on 22 August 2026. The session commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished speakers, Mr. Priyanshu Gupta, Founder of NAMC, Mehak and ProKhakhra and Vice President of the Masters’ Union Investment Fund; Mr. Saiansh Gupta, who has cleared CFA Level 1 and is the President of the Masters’ Union Investment Fund; Mr. Pratham Jain, from the Growth Team at Masters’ Union; and Mr. Jyotiraditya Ganguly, Representative of the Masters’ Union Investment Fund. The session aimed to provide students with practical insights into finance, investing, entrepreneurship, and the stock market through interactive discussions and experiential learning.

The session began with an introduction by Mr. Pratham Jain, who familiarised the audience with the Masters’ Union Investment Fund (MIUF). He introduced MIUF as a student-led research initiative that bridges classroom learning with real-world investing, with a focus on developing students’ analytical skills, strategic thinking, and financial decision-making abilities.

The session was then taken forward by Mr. Saiansh Gupta, who introduced students to the stock market and its functioning. He explained key concepts such as stocks, shares, market movements, risk, and dividends, helping students develop a basic understanding of how financial markets operate and how investment decisions are influenced by various factors. He also asked questions to the students, encouraging them to participate actively and apply their understanding of financial concepts. The discussion highlighted that investing requires research, analysis, patience, and careful decision-making, rather than focusing on quick profits.

The session also provided students with an insight into entrepreneurship, startups, and emerging business models such as dropshipping. Students learnt how innovative ideas, technology, and effective planning can contribute to building a business. It encouraged students to think creatively and understand the importance of making informed financial decisions. The speakers actively engaged the students by asking questions, making the learning experience interactive and meaningful.

One of the major highlights of the session was the Dalal Street Simulation, conducted by Mr. Jyotiraditya Ganguly. The activity provided students with a practical and engaging experience of how the stock market operates. Students actively participated in the simulation by analysing market information, making buying and selling decisions, managing risks, and observing how changing market conditions affected their investments. The activity helped students understand the importance of careful analysis, quick thinking, informed decision-making, and adaptability. It also encouraged teamwork and strategic thinking, making the learning experience both practical and enjoyable.
