WORKSHOP ON CURRICULUM INTEGRATION BY MS. JYOTSNA BRAR (FOUNDER PRINCIPAL, RKKGPS)

An enriching workshop on the above stated topic was conducted by Ma’am Jyotsna Brar, the founder principal of RKKGPS on 11 May 2024. The main focus of this session was to engage students in meaningful activities so that they can connect the knowledge/ learning with real life. It was advised that teacher should teach students ‘usage’ of the knowledge so that students can decipher and attach correct meaning to what they hear and read. Teacher should work as a felicitator and should assist students during the process of interconnections between discreet pieces of knowledge, different disciplines and content. Teacher should provide an avenue for deeper learning. It was suggested that teacher should help students to understand integrated designs, so that they can focus on the critical, evaluative and creative thinking aspects of learning. Ma’am reiterated that English language has already been integrated with the rest of the subjects. English teachers have a complex role to play in India and they have to help students overcome complex challenges.
