Cocurricular - Round Square

THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL, DUBAI (VIRTUAL RS INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION)


A collaborative session with The Millennium School, Dubai was held on 20th and 21st January 2023, under the aegis of Round Square. The theme of the meet was ‘A world of acceptance and belonging’. It as a collaboration towards realising the power of the thinking inclusively based on the ideals of Internationalism and Democracy. Delegates shared their experiences on the topic and evaluate their role and contribution in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in various walks of life. The RKK’s delegates were Sahaj Mehta, Vanshika Bajaj, Rashi Bafna, Tanvi, Meha Loonker, Unnati Shekhawat, Ashmin Sidhu, Saima Singh, Khwahish Parihar and Priyal Jain with their Teacher Incharge, Mrs Sapna Gupta.

On the first day, the team was introduced to a very inspiring individual, Lisette Nieves. Being an American academic, non – profit leader and public official, she is also the President of public fund for the city of New York and a distinguished Clinical Instructor in New York University. She inspired and encouraged the delegates to keep going even in the difficult times. She educated about the pillars of Democracy and a world of true equality. Then came  the most awaited part of the meet, the Barraza sessions. All joined their respective sessions and participated in the ice breaking session. Children talked about their interests and hobbies and had friendly debates on certain topics. The first day ended with courage in their hearts and smile on their faces.

The second day began with greetings and keynote speeches. The first Speaker, Dr Vibha Bakshi, taught us that when change occurs; it is a victory. The second Speaker, Mr Dhruv Kent, a chart buster Singer Songwriter, explained the importance of cultural icons. Ms Meghan Mackay, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Schooling Design, stated that joy and emotion brings curiosity. The last speaker, Mr Kadeem Gill, inspired everyone by his past hardships and his never give up approach. The second day came to an end with the thrilling Barraza sessions. This event truly changed students as a person and the way they think.
