THE SCINDIA SCHOOL, GWALIOR (RS ZOOM POSTCARD)

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.’

We could all learn something from this well-known Bible verse. Looking beyond the religious overtones, there is a message to be found in this for everyone. Everything begins with a word. Words consist of vibration and sound. It is these vibrations that create the very reality that surrounds us. The choices we make with our language sets the parameters for our lives. The skill of expression we possess can contribute to many facets of our ability to succeed personally and professionally. The real power in words is their meaning and  interpretation. That is also the real power in life and so to enhance our array of knowledge and vocabulary, The Scindia School in India invited a delegation of six students aged 16 to 18 and one adult for a RS Zoom Postcard held on 20th July, 2022 with the theme “The Power Of Words”. The 60-minute call took place on Wednesday July 20th at 6pm IST (GMT +5 30hr) and brought together around 95 participants from 16 schools in 2 countries (India and Kenya). After an Ice-Breaking Session ,  the postcard was addressed by the Keynote Speaker of the event: Mr. Vidit Gupta, a student of  Scindia School, accompanied by Mr. Anubhav Sachan as he shared his views on the correct use of one’s language and about the renowned term, ‘Gossip’. Ahead of the call, the participants were asked to create a collage of what we think depicts "The Power Of Words". The call followed by a Baraza Session where the participants displayed their inquisitiveness on topics such as gossips, verbal bullying, impact of language on life etc. The meeting  ended with a final summary given by the representatives of each baraza group and how they thought language affects them in daily life. From sharing life experiences to making some new memories, the session was highly interactive.

The team of Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School was represented by Avantika Mishra, Adwitiya Saxena,  Shreya Maloo, Prachi Jain, Riya Sharma , Piya Salecha with their teacher in-charge Mrs  Anupama Nair.

This Event played a huge rule in making the participants understand The emotions they feel, the events they  experience, and their ability to interact with other humans. All are controlled by language. If more control is wanted, life can be started with a greater understanding of the potential power in what we say to ourselves and others.
